ASSIGNMENT 1

ASSIGNMENT 1 : Favourite subject

Well, my favourite subject so far is the same that last year, Dibujo ( drawing ), taught by the Professor Gabriel Uribarri. I like it so much, in first place because I always had liked to draw so when I got the chance to study something where draw is so important, really motivated me and makes me happy.

I think that the drawing is the base for all of the others subjects as painting or sculpture , and specifically, this drawing class has a very strict discipline and a very strong working methodology and I think that this is the the most important thing for be able to develop a good technique . The class is about really learn how to "draw", not just to illustrate or copy something, but to learn how to look properly at things, be able to understand the objects, understand its structure , also we work in parallel processes, one at home and another in the classroom. Drawing is thinking, the most basic and wonderful thing that we all do as humans.

Another thing that I like is that the professor is a person who really loves drawing, I mean like very deeply, and it is so good and encouraging to have a professor like that, who is not there for obligation, but for true vocation. And what I have learnt this semeste... I think that so many things, like learning to stop looking at things as if they were in only two dimensions, learn to look at the volume of the objects, learn to look in perspective and be able to transfer that into the paper, etc.... oh and also gave me a very good work method.
